What if the search for a soulmate is just another wild goose chase, fuelled by movies and romance novels?

A soul mate is a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.

The notion that there is a perfect person somewhere for everyone is what drives many people in relationships.

People entertain the idea and pursue the goal of finding ’the one’ because, apparently, once you do, life feels perfect, the joy of being in a relationship/marriage just flows naturally and all is rosy and resplendent.

But, really, how true is this idea? What if there isn't a particular truth to it and it's just another wild goose chase, fuelled by movies and romance novels?
