Discipline

               

Discipline is believed to be the ability of one to restrain one’s self at all times, it is an act of taking responsibility and saying “No” especially in situation where one is often tempted or tested to do what is wrong, both in the eyes of religion and that of the law.

It is a source of dignity, courage and an effective antidote to corruption, in menace that has hunted our beloved country for too long. Discipline has been exhibited by many successful global leaders such as Madiba, popularly known as Nelson Mandela, during his fight against apartheid in south Africa, Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian great and even our lord Jesus Christ, when he refused to be tempted by the devil himself. Discipline might be difficult to implement and the immediate gain of doing what is wrong might be so tempting for one to ignore, but only if one could see the bigger picture and reject the temptations of evil, one would understand that discipline begotten even after one’s death.

So, my dear colleagues and my superiors, I would like to encourage each and every one of us to imbibe the act of discipline and take it as our watch word as we continue to progress in life for, this will bring genuine success and true legacy to us individually and tremendous development to our nation collectively.
