Courage
Courage is something that everybody
wants – an attitude of good character and a show of bravery that make one
worthy of respect. Courage is the quality that distinguishes great leaders from
excellent managers.
From the holy book to fairy tales,
from ancient myths to Hollywood movies, our culture is all rich with exemplary
tales of bravery and self – sacrifices for the greater good. History books also
tell colourful tales of social activists, such as Martin Luther King and Nelson
Mandela who choose to speak out against injustice at great personal risk. Yet
courage is not just physical bravery.
Courage is neither an intellectual
quality, nor can it be taught in the classroom it can only be gained through
multiple experiences involving personal risk taking. Courage comes from the
heart. Courage personals feel fear but still chooses to act, stands up for what
is right. Letting go of the familiar to expand his/her horizon, facing
suffering with dignity and faith.
Dear co-members, we have first shown
the character of courage by leaving our homes to come here to be prepared for
service to our nation let us keep the fire of courage burning and serve to the
end in dignity, faith and selflessness.
Be courageous.
